Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media and Chief Organizer of the Government Party, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, was elected as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka-India Parliamentary Friendship Association for the Tenth Parliament.

This was when the meeting to establish the Sri Lanka-India Parliamentary Friendship Association for the Tenth Parliament was held on 8 May 2025 at the Parliament premises under the patronage of the Hon. Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.

Hon. Santosh Jha, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The Honorable Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Rizvi Salley, Honorable Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Members of Parliament and the Secretary General of Parliament, Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, among others, participated in this event.
At the meeting, Hon. Member of Parliament Dr. Kavinda Jayawardena was elected as the Secretary of the Sri Lanka-India Parliamentary Friendship Association.
