A state-of-the-art CT scan machine worth Rs. 177 million and a renovated eye clinic building have been opened to the public at the Negombo District General Hospital.

“The main objective of the government is to provide maximum service to the sick people at the regional level by improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare service” – Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The latest CT scanner, installed at a cost of Rs. 177 million under the financial provisions of the Asian Development Bank, with the aim of ensuring faster, more accurate and quality diagnostic and treatment services for patients visiting the Negombo District General Hospital, was officially added to the hospital treatment services this afternoon (07) under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

In addition, the Negombo District General Hospital Eye Clinic building, which was completely renovated at a cost of Rs. 2.9 million and upgraded with modern facilities, was also opened for treatment services under the patronage of Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. This building, which had been in a dilapidated condition for a long time, has been renovated with the contributions of benefactors and donors, with the initial intervention of Rev. Fr. Daryl Kunna.
