2918 new student nurses will be recruited for training for the nursing service in the country.

Health is always an essential service, whether gazetted from time to time under the Public Safety Act or not.
With the aim of enhancing the human resources of the country’s healthcare system and providing quality healthcare services to the public, the recruitment of 2918 students for nursing training was carried out this morning (14) at the Main Hall of Temple Trees under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

Steps have been taken to assign the selected applicants of the 2022 batch for the year 2025 for 3-year training at 15 nursing colleges established across the island.

At this event, the Minister symbolically presented appointment letters to new student nurses, and the Minister also provided nursing school principals with the names of the student nurses receiving training from their nursing schools.
