Dr. Sunil de Alwis , DDG (Training and Research ), Dr Chithramali de Silva, Deputy Director of Family Health Bureau and Dr. Lakshman Gamlath of National Institute of Health Science, Kalutara had participated in this occasion.

Minister of Health, Hon.Maithreepala Sirisena experessing his views said, “those who are with better qualities, attitudes and ideas become talented people when they get, knowledge, understanding and experience in a field. You have become leaders as a talented group in the public health service of the country. You have now been given the responsibility of administration and supervision of the midwives who had been working with you. Therefore you are a leader in the field. Everyone should have leadership qualities for the promotions. You have been selected for these promotions with the belief that you will develop leadership qualities with them. Few months before, I instructed the relevant sections of the Ministry to obtain the maximum amount of money as possible in the year in order to purchase bicycles required to Public Health Midwives. It had been informed not to purchase bicycles using Ministry finance and bicycles will be provided from treasury finance. I am hopeful about it”.
