On a previous occasion Hon. Minister of Health had given water bowsers to distribute water among the people faced with a severe shortage of water in Polonnaruwa District. Already, water is being distributed continuously using those bowsers among the people, in the Grama Seva divisions who are suffering from shortage of water.

Hon. On that occasion residents of those areas mentioned to the Minister that although water is distributed in bowsers they are faced with the problem of collecting the water so distributed as there are not enough water tanks to collect water.

Thereon Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena instructed the Divisional Secretaries of the area and Disaster Management officers to give people the water tanks required to collect water expeditely and immediately increase the number of times water is provided to the people as the drought has become worse.

Divisional Secretaries, Grama Niladhari officers and Disaster Management officers and Disaster Management officers of the relevant areas participated this occasion.
