Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha  Senarathne today (19 may 2015) addresses the 68th World Health Assembly held in Geneva and highlighted the progress Sri Lanka has made in achieving the millennium development goals and universal health coverage. Particularly with respect to Maternal & Child Health and the control of communicable diseases.

The Non Communicable Disease Unit of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine has organized a National Programme to  educate the public on children on road safety. This is in line with the Global Road Safety week which falls on 4th May to 10th May, 2015.

The main function of this was held at  9.00 a.m. on 7/05/2015 at Ananda Collage Colombo under the patronage of Hon. Dr. Rajitha Senarathna Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine.

In parallel with the 100 day programme of the new government, recently Opened the newly built Two Regional Blood Centres for Mullative and Killinochchi District General Hospitals funded by Netherland Government.

Under the patronage of Hon. Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senarathna and with the participation of  Hon. Chief Minister of Northern Province C.V. Vigneswaran.

“Lama Piyasa "– declared open

In order to strengthen the current measures aimed at socializing abused children the “Lama Piyasa” building was set up at a cost of Rs.13.9 million and declared open by Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine.
