Netherland Government is engaged in a broad study of the investment opportunities for the development of the health sector in Sri Lanka.
A Netherland delegation met the Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena last 15th (2014-07-15) at the Ministry of Health and had a special discussion on carrying out a broad study of the investment opportunities available for the development of the health sector in Sri Lanka, progress of the state sector as well as of the non- state sector in the field of health and new avenues.

The Health Minister of Maldives, Hon Dr Mariyam Shakeela on a recent visit to Sri Lanka requested, Hon Maithripala Sirisena, Health Minister of Sri Lanka to assist Maldives by sharing the services of Doctors and Nurses of Sri Lanka, as they poses high levels of expertise and exhibit higher service quality. The request was made when the Maldivian delegation met the Sri Lankan Health Minister at the Ministry of Health, Colombo.

Korean Ambassador His Excellency Chang Won-Sam met Minister of Health Hon. Maithreepala Sirisena at his official residence yesterday (2014-07-02 ), and had conversation on health affairs of the two countries. His Excellency Chang Won-Sam who was highly pleased with the work on improvement of free health services in Sri Lanka expressed his willingness to provide the financial contribution required to develop the hospitals in our country. In addition to that Korean Ambassador His Excellency Chang Won-Sam complimented the Minister of Health on achieving top health indices in South Eastern Asia.
